FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
 Leadership Award

Patsy A. Ashton, R.N. was named as the recipient of the 2008 Medique Leadership Award at the annual meeting of the Louisiana Association of Occupational Health Nurses held recently in New Orleans.  She is employed as an occupational health nurse at the USDA National Finance Center in New Orleans.

This award, which is sponsored by Medique Products, has been presented since 1992 at the annual Louisiana Occupational Health Conference and is equivalent to the “Nurse of the Year” for the Louisiana Association of Occupational Health Nurses (LAOHN).  Ms. Ashton, who was nominated and selected by her peers for this honor, receives a plaque and the LAOHN receives a cash award to be used for the organization’s continuing education programs.

The Louisiana Association of Occupational Health Nurses is a chapter of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, a professional association dedicated to advancing the health, safety and productivity of domestic and global workforces by providing education, research, public policy and practice resources for occupational and environmental health nurses. These professionals are the largest group of health care providers serving the worksite.
